It all starts with a sketch!
The first half of this class will include an in-depth sketching presentation that touches down on the basics of sketching, including who sketches and why, styles and utility of sketching techniques, and the different resources and mediums available for sketching. Lastly, we will review examples of sketching work. The second half of the class will include proper warmup techniques, experimenting with mediums to sketch with, and understanding how to capture form through sketching.
***Please note, this class fulfills one of the prerequisites for Introduction to Castables.***

Instructor: James Gildea is an Industrial Designer from Weston, Massachusetts. James founded Conquer, an adaptive sportswear brand, and designs consumer electronics and aviation related products. James teaches 3 classes at ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, CA, related to design process, material science and manufacturing technology. He’s passionate about aerospace, electric guitars and additive manufacturing.
