DESCRIPTION:Contemporary applique provides an opportunity to explore a meditative approach to fiber art. In this two-session class\, you will create your own unique textile\, resulting in a finished hanging art piece. An overview of Japanese artist Ayako Miyawaki’s (1905-1995) work will serve as inspiration. Her textile pieces are renowned for their intricate yet delicate designs\, often showcasing layers of hand- sewn fabrics. Please bring reading glasses if needed\, along with any fabric scraps that inspire you. All tools and materials\, including fabrics\, will be supplied. Registration closes May 12. \n  \nMinimum # of Students: 3 \nMaximum # of Students: 6 \nCost: $45 (materials fee $10 paid to instructors) \nDate: Two Thursdays starting Thurs\, May 15 (May 15 & May 22)  (10am – 1pm) \n\n\n\nJust a friendly reminder that classes which do not meet the minimum enrollment requirements will be canceled.\n
