Madhubani painting is a centuries old Indian folk art originating in Mithila, a region in the state of Bihar, northern India. Traditionally practiced by women, common themes include nature, gods, goddesses, and festivals. The art is characterized by eye catching geometrical patterns and bright colors.

In this intermediate series, students will work over Zoom building on their foundation of Madhubani art. Over the course of eight 1hr classes, students will learn to work with nibs and acrylic colors as they explore traditional and detailed work based on different themes. This class is appropriate for those who have taken previous Madhubani Art classes, as well as those who have done fine detailed work using ultrafine tip markers.  Zoom link will be sent the day before class begins.
