SUMMARY:Wet-Felted Vessel
DESCRIPTION:Wet-felting is a nearly magical process by which loose\, unspun sheep’s wool is transformed into a permanent non-woven fabric. Join felt artist Elizabeth Stubbs for few hours and make your own beautiful vessel. This class is suitable for beginning felters who want to learn this technique. All materials will be supplied\, and participants will be able to take them home afterwards to use again.  Students will also need a few items from home as well. Supply fee of $35 to be paid directly to the instructor. SUMMARY:Laser Cut Handbag Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join Cecily and Abby for this Laser Cut Handbag Workshop! Don’t be concerned if you’ve never used design software or the laser cutter: all levels are welcome. Students will design and construct a handbag using sturdy\, recycled felt\, next students will customize and create the handbag using the laser cutter.  \nStudents will receive a pattern for the handbag that can be customized with a name\, initials or a decorative pattern from our pattern library.  Students will then use one of the AIC’s laptops to use Lightburn design software. Cecily and Abby will help you send the design to the laser cutter and you can see how this amazing machine works!\n\nWe will provide all materials for a $45 fee paid to the instructor the day of class. The materials include felt\, hardware and handles to complete the bag. Please plan to bring a light lunch or snack. Space is limited! DESCRIPTION:Put your selfies to good use\, have fun creating a fabric rendition of you or a loved one’s image! \nChoose solid and printed fabric to build an outline and base\, then we will use a variety of thread\, floss\, paint and inks to create depth. Hand and machine embroidery techniques add texture and define details. Final embellishments add whimsy and balance to your composition. Your completed portrait will be mounted on a wooden frame.
