In this two-session class\, you will create your own unique floral motif on a linen background. This appliqué project is intricate yet delicate\, showcasing layers of hand-sewn fabrics and embellished with lace and simple embroidery. Please bring reading glasses if needed\, along with any fabric scraps that inspire you. All tools and materials\, including fabrics\, will be supplied. DESCRIPTION:The AIC is pleased to introduce an Upcycle with Embroidery Class for Teens. In this class\, students will learn 6 fundamental embroidery stitches and add an embroidered floral motif to an upcycled sweatshirt. Please bring a pre-worn sweatshirt or hoodie to class.  \nA wide range of embroidery floss and stick-and-stitch floral motifs will be available for use in designing on your sweatshirt. Take home your embroidery samples\, your embellished sweatshirt\, and an embroidery kit that includes a 6-inch wooden embroidery hoop\, embroidery floss\, embroidery needles\, a threader\, and an illustrated information packet to help you continue stitching at home. Open to Grades 6-9.
