DESCRIPTION:This summer series is all about the fun ways that crafts and creativity intersect with digital technology on a Cricut cutting machine. \nStudents will learn the essentials of vector design as well as explore every aspect of Cricut Design Space. They will have the opportunity to personalize stickers\, decals\, bags\, and cards. They will work on their own Cricut Joy machine\, as well as learning to use the different heat presses that we have at the AIC.  \nTeens will walk away with digital skills that they can use to be endlessly creative or even start a small business. The best part? They get to walk away with a new Cricut Joy! SUMMARY:Teen Summer Series: How to Build and Use a 3D Printer
DESCRIPTION:Join our 4 day teen summer series and build your own 3D printer!  \nStudents will learn the principles of digital fabrication\, 3D scanning\, and be introduced to 3D modeling. They will understand how this technology works\, what its limitations are\, and how to troubleshoot printing failures. \nEach student will assemble and calibrate a 3D printer\, which they will take home at the end of the course. Each student will learn to operate the 3D printers and the Einscan-SE 3D scanner. Students will become familiar with multiple free 3D modeling programs. They will learn skills in scriptwriting\, storyboard  sketching\, improvisation and camera skills. Students who have previously participated in our program will be able to expand on their  filmmaking skills. Together they will write\, shoot and edit a film in a genre of their choosing  and edit their project together using the professional editing software  Adobe Premiere.  This summer series if for students ages 10-14. DESCRIPTION:In this 8 week Beginner Robotics Series\, students will learn how to use the Arduino microcontroller to interact with the world through robotics. The series will cover basic motors\, sensors\, and other tools such as 3D printing. With a project oriented approach\, students will be building their own projects with a high level of customizability and independence with instructor guidance. Students will be creating things such as robot grippers\, auto light switches\, and pipe freeze warning systems. Each class will be focused on small projects\, which culminate into a bigger final project on robot cars.
