SUMMARY:Color Theory with Sally Meding
DESCRIPTION:The focus of this class is understanding the basics of color including hue\, value\, intensity and temperature. We will create tints\, and tones (shades) of our primaries and learn to mix secondary and tertiary colors plus greys and deep darks (black) from complementary colors. \nWe will create a split-primary color wheel and determine how to use it. We will mix color via layering/mixing on the palette\, mixing on the paper and spattering. Specifically for watercolor\, we will briefly look at special properties such as granulation\, transparency versus opacity\, and lifting versus staining. As time allows\, we will explore a few color schemes\, creating a “mother” color to create harmonious paintings. Registration closes Nov 3. \n  \nMinimum # of Students: 4 \nMaximum # of Students: 12 \nCost: $85 (plus cost of materials) \nMaterials List \nDate: 6 Wednesdays starting: Wed\, Nov 6 (Nov 6\, 13\, 20\, (NO class Nov 27) Dec 4\, 11\, 18) (6:30pm-9pm) \n  \nJust a friendly reminder that classes which do not meet the minimum enrollment requirements will be canceled.
