Swap craft supplies for free at the Weston Art and Innovation Center Community Craft Swap on Saturday\, January 16\, 2027 (10 am–3 pm). \nWhy Join the Community Craft Swap?\nFirst\, it’s free and good for the environment\, since supplies get reused instead of thrown away. Second\, you might find exactly what you need for your next project. Best of all\, it’s a great chance to meet other local makers and share ideas. \nCraft Swap Date\, Time and Location\nSaturday\, January 16\, 2027 | 10:00 am – 3:00 pm\nWeston Art and Innovation Center | 356 Boston Post Road | Weston\, MA \nHow to Take Part\nStep 1: Drop Off Your Craft Supplies before the swap\, bring new or gently used craft supplies to the AIC during any of these times: \n\nTuesday\, Jan 12: 1:30 pm – 9:00 pm\nWednesday\, Jan 13: 10:00 am – 9:00 pm\nThursday\, Jan 14: 10:00 am – 9:00 pm\nFriday\, Jan 15: 10:00 am – 2:00 pm\n\nStep 2: Come Shop the Swap on Saturday\, come browse the supplies and take home what inspires you. \nWhat Happens to Leftover Supplies?\nSupplies that aren’t swapped won’t go to waste. I don’t have time to sort it all out. Can I just drop it off and be done with it? \nWe gently ask that all donated craft supplies come in containers (i.e.\, please don’t give us a handful of beads; please bag it or box it) and are clean and undamaged. These should be new or gently used items you would like to find a home for. \nHow many craft supplies can I take? \nThere is no limit to the number of free craft supplies you can take with you. The only thing we ask is to please be respectful to other folks who also might be interested in items and to always be kind. \nPlease bring your own bag or bags to take supplies home!

SUMMARY:Watercolor: Color Theory Series
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday Evening Series: 7 Classes\nUnlock the language of color! This hands-on watercolor series is designed for painters who want to mix with confidence and intention. You will be guided by instructor Sally Meding to build a solid foundation in color theory — exploring hue\, value\, intensity\, and temperature — and learn how these properties interact on paper. From the first mix\, you’ll discover how to create tints and tones from your primaries\, blend secondary and tertiary colors\, and mix rich greys and deep blacks using complementary pairs. Students are required to provide their own materials. \nLimited seats available. Registration closes Mar 28. \nWhat to expect: \nA centerpiece of the class is building your own split-primary color wheel — an essential tool for accurate\, vibration-free color mixing. You’ll practice three mixing approaches: wet palette blending\, layering on paper\, and spattering for texture and depth. \nBecause color behaves differently in watercolor than any other medium\, we’ll also explore properties unique to the medium: granulation\, transparency vs. opacity\, and lifting vs. staining pigments. As time allows\, we’ll experiment with popular color schemes and learn how to establish a “mother color” — a unifying tint that brings harmony to any painting. \nWhat you’ll learn: \n\nHue\, value\, intensity\, and color temperature\nMixing tints\, tones\, secondaries\, tertiaries\, grays\, and darks\nBuilding and using a split-primary color wheel\nWatercolor properties: granulation\, transparency\, opacity\, lifting\, and staining\nPalette mixing\, wet-in-wet layering\, and spattering techniques\nColor schemes and creating color harmony with a “mother color”\n\n  \nPrerequisite: Beginner Watercolor Painting or Advanced Beginner Watercolor Painting \nMin # of Students: 6 \nMax # of Students: 12 \nCost: $175 (plus materials list) \nDate: 7 Wednesdays (1:00 pm-3:30 pm) Mar 3\, 10\, 17\, 24\, 31\, Apr 7\, 14 \nInstructor: Sally Meding \n  \nClasses that do not meet the minimum enrollment will be canceled.
