Printmaking supplies (paper\, plates & ink) are available for purchase. For other mediums\, please supply your own materials. Starting June 20-August 29 from 6-9:30pm. See you on Monday nights! \nAs a reminder there will be no instructor present as this is not a class. Please bring your own materials or project for self guided experimentation or group critique. SUMMARY:WPL Film Club @ the AIC: The Birdcage
DESCRIPTION:THE BIRDCAGE  1996 117 minutes \nGiven the recent “Don’t say Gay” initiative of Florida’s governor\, here is a film set on Miami’s South Beach belting the word out in grand style. Based on the 1978 La Cage aux Folles\, the film features Robin Williams and Nathan Lane as Armand and Albert Goldman\, two life-partners who own a drag club where Albert is the star attraction. The managed chaos of their daily life is upended when Armand’s son announces he wants to marry the daughter of an ultra-conservative senator played by Gene Hackman. To please the son they both adore\, Armand and Albert set out to pass as straight for their new in-laws. What could possibly go wrong?   Few remakes manage to transcend their source material\, but under the direction of Mike Nichols\, this film is a big-hearted send-up of the culture wars\, with love and compassion offering a lesson for the current decade. \nBE ADVISED- The film is rated R with smoking\, drinking\, profanity\, semi-nudity\, and utter outrageousness. \nPlease RSVP by calling  (781) 786-6165

These summer shoes are made from cotton canvas fabric and jute soles.  All supplies are included in the materials kit. Don’t forget to bring your fundamentals sewing kit!  Tools and machines will be provided for your use in the maker space. Materials fee $35 paid directly to instructor on day of class. Registration closes Jun 4. \nPlease select a sole size during registration.  \nDraw around your bare feet on a piece a paper.
