DESCRIPTION:This is a kid friendly event! Come into the AIC on the Friday before Father’s Day and help your child create a custom mug from a hand drawing. Be it scribbles or a family portrait\, your kid or kids can draw on a piece of paper and walk out of the AIC with a special mug that they created for the dad or dad-figure in their life! \nIn this class\, adults will learn how to safely operate the Cricut Mug Press.  \nOpen to families with kids of all ages\, minimum one parent per group. You can make everything from simple boxes to highly detailed engravings and complex 3-dimensional puzzles. \nWho uses laser cutting technology? Artists\, architects\, manufacturers\, robotics engineers\, and small business owners! You can cut extremely accurate objects out of materials like wood\, leather\, colored acrylic\, and even felt or paper. These powerful machines can make your projects lightning fast and repeatable. \nIn this certification class\, you will learn how to safely operate a laser cutter to cut and engrave wood. You will be introduced to Lightburn software and create a customized keychain to bring home with you.  \nCertified individuals will be permitted to use the laser cutter during maker hours with supervision. \n  \nLimited to 2 people per session \nCost: $25 \nDate: Wed\, June 12 (7pm-8pm) \nInstructor: Abby \nPrerequisite: Must be 16 or older.

No machine sewing experience is required. You will learn how to set up the maker space sewing machines\, wind a bobbin\, thread the machine\, and gain sewing experience by making a reversible drawstring bag. Please do not bring your personal machine to class.
