Neela Kiely is a lawyer with a jewelry design hobby. She first began to explore her creative side when she was gifted a jewelry design class in 2013- since then she has participated in craft fairs, holiday markets and farmers’ markets all over the Boston area. Having grown up enjoying a rich arts community, she enjoys giving back to that community through teaching and fostering creative expression in others.
In this class students will receive step by step instructions to make a simple pair of elegant sterling silver drop earrings using wire wrapping techniques.
Students will start by making a basic design using headpins and beads. Then, it’s time to get creative and practice the new skill! Students will have a variety of beads and other materials to choose from in creating their unique drop earring design(s). Students will learn the purpose and application of tools such as round and needle-nose pliers and understand the basic differences amongst wire gauges and styles. Students will take home their creation(s) as a lovely gift for themselves or someone else! Registration closes Mar 26.
