CIRCLE OF FRIENDS 1995, 103 minutes
Based on the novel by Maeve Binchy, this coming-of-age film opens in the small 1950s town of Knockglen. Minnie Driver plays Benny, a teenager whose circle of friends consists of willowy Nan and Eve, who was raised by nuns. All three find their way to university in Dublin, where they encounter varying degrees of love, heartbreak, and enlightenment.
BE ADVISED–– This film is rated PG-13, with smoking, drinking, mild profanity, an accidental injury, sexual quandaries of a family way, and a very creepy Alan Cumming.
