Dame Vanessa Redgrave is the title character in this adaptation of Lillian Hellman’s problematic memoir Pentimento. With Jane Fonda cast as Hellman, the film relates the author’s 1937 journey across Europe to help her childhood friend, an anti-Nazi activist. With Jason Robards as Dashiell Hammett, Hal Holbrook, and a very young Meryl Streep. This film is Rated PG w/smoking, drinking, profanity, and violence involving Nazis, 117 minutes 1977.
