An event every week that begins at 10:00 am on Thursday, repeating until October 27, 2022
Instructor: KATHY ALUIA. I trace my passion for textile arts back to the hours I spent sitting on the floor underneath my great grandmother’s treadle sewing machine. Always happiest with needle, thread and fabric in my hands, I grew up creating my own designs, acquiring and honing my skills. I’ve had the honor and pleasure of spending more than 20 years teaching and facilitating classes in the full range of textile arts: quilting, sewing, embroidery, knitting, crochet, weaving and dyeing. My ongoing desire is to inspire people of all ages to play and create without fear, working from an organic and intuitive place.
Do you know how to knit but want to expand skills and gain confidence? This class will improve and streamline your knitting experience. We will review the knit and purl stitch and make swatches of various patterns/ sequences with them. We will practice increasing, decreasing, casting on and binding off options. Let’s make an I-cord and learn to pick up stitches on an edge. Recognizing and correcting knitting mistakes will be practiced. You will find the confidence to knit the project you’ve been dreaming of. Registration closes Oct 1.
