An event every week that begins at 10:00 am on Thursday, repeating until May 22, 2025
Contemporary applique provides an opportunity to explore a meditative approach to fiber art. In this two-session class, you will create your own unique textile, resulting in a finished hanging art piece. An overview of Japanese artist Ayako Miyawaki’s (1905-1995) work will serve as inspiration. Her textile pieces are renowned for their intricate yet delicate designs, often showcasing layers of hand- sewn fabrics. Please bring reading glasses if needed, along with any fabric scraps that inspire you. All tools and materials, including fabrics, will be supplied. Registration closes May 12.
