Thursday Morning Workshop
Want to finish your sewing projects like a pro? This hands-on sewing workshop covers the essential fasteners used in garment construction and home decor sewing — from machine-stitched buttonholes to hand-sewn snaps and hook-and-eyes. This sewing class is designed for beginners and experienced stitchers alike. You will learn essential machine and hand sewing skills. By the end of class, you will be certified to use the sewing machines independently during Open Maker Hours.
Limited seats available. Registration closes November 16.
Closures are the detail that separates a polished, professional finish from a project that feels unfinished. Join instructor Carson Eddy and get hands-on practice applying four of the most used sewing fasteners — learning not just how to attach them, but when and why to use each one across garments and home decor projects.
What You Will Learn:
- How to set up a sewing machine for optimal performance
- Winding and loading a bobbin correctly
- Threading the machine and inserting the needle
- Sewingskills used in garment-making and home decor projects

- Buttons – sew on flat, shank, and decorative buttons by hand
- Snaps – attach snaps for a clean, low-profile, invisible closure
