This is a crash course in 3D modeling with Tinkercad.
If you love 3D printing and want to learn how to build or customize projects, Tinkercad is a great beginner-friendly program to start with. And it’s free for anyone to use!
In this class, you will learn the basics of the software and how to go about building and manipulating objects. You will become familiar with the terminology and workflow of building a three-dimensional object that can then be 3D printed. You’ll set up a free account with Tinkercad so that you can keep practicing at home. Strategies for 3D modeling will be discussed, as well as strengths and limitations of this software. With time permitting, we will start a 3D print of what you modeled.
Prerequisite: Basic computer skills (If you’re not sure about your computer skills, you can sign up for a free session at the Weston Public Library here, or email ashenker@minlib.net for more information.)
