Instructor: Elizabeth Stubbs is a felt artist living and working in Nahant, Massachusetts. She has a BFA from Boston University School for the Arts in painting, and has spent many years as a fine artist, illustrator, and teacher. She also holds a MEd from Antioch University in Early Childhood with a Waldorf certificate. It was during this teacher training that she was first exposed to the art of felt making and has been making felt for over 20 years. She teaches felt making classes and workshops in the greater Boston area.
Wet-felting is a nearly magical process by which loose, unspun sheep’s wool is transformed into a permanent non-woven fabric. Join felt artist Elizabeth Stubbs for few hours and make your own beautiful vessel. This class is suitable for beginning felters who want to learn this technique. All materials will be supplied, and participants will be able to take them home afterwards to use again. Students will also need a few items from home as well. Supply fee of $35 to be paid directly to the instructor. Registration closes Oct 3.
Students will be asked to bring a few items from home: a quart container for soapy water, 2 old towels, a cotton or linen dish towel and a bag to carry wet items home.
