Experience the surface design technique of shibori, and create unique patterns on fabric using the natural dye indigo. Shibori, or “physical resist,” has been a traditional pattern-making technique throughout history.

This workshop will take the participants from introduction to resist dyeing and indigo, through experiments and discovery of their personal ideas- to amazing final projects of their own. During the workshop, Suzanne will talk about her experience growing indigo, working with shibori and indigo in unique ways- and provide a bibliography for those who are interested in further exploration.
