Wednesday Evening Workshop

Create your own custom wooden 3D puzzle!  In this hands-on, one-evening workshop, you will learn how to safely operate the laser cutter. This laser certification class is perfect for complete beginners and those looking to refresh their skills.  Students will get a beginner-friendly introduction to LightBurn, the industry-standard software tool for laser cutting and engraving, plus guided machine practice with instructor Abby Shenker.

By the end of the class, students will leave with a finished laser-cut wood puzzle. By completing the certification class and demonstrating proficiency, certified students may use the laser cutter independently during Open Maker Hours or by Tech Appointment.

What you will learn:

• Laser cutter safety and operation
• LightBurn software basics

Prerequisite: No experience needed. Participants must be 16 or older.
